Re: Ranger motor swap. 2.9L Bell pattern is same as 2.8L/2.9L/4.0L OHV Ranger engines. 2.3L Bell pattern is the same as 2.0/2.3/2.5L Ranger Engines. A used 2.3L would be the way to go, while under powered, they usually last a long time. No point in rebuilding that, too expensive for what it is IMO.
