Is tradovate good.

You can code forms. They have object oriented Easy Language (their proprietary platform language). They have tablet app for trades. They have a web page you can trade. They have a web api (haven't used it or know if its any good). If you're especially worried about disconnects, you could use Tradingview as your platform and Tradovate as your broker. Tradovate has a decent web interface that you could employ as a fallback. Re: brokers, AMP is solid and Tradovate is very good. People like Ninjatrader, but with that, you're locked into the Ninjatrader platform, I believe.

If you use 1 tick data or high fill resolution, you will be closer to reality (it's pretty good)--I would still visually validate there aren't data issues though, as they do happen (you know it when you see it on the chart). I use tradestation on my windows (on my mac) which works pretty well for my needs. It's good right out of the box, lots of different commodities and currency futures for reasonable margin. $3-4k will be enough for a couple micro/ commodity contacts. The one bad thing though, during high volatility spikes, the platform will have problems with orders and fills. And sometimes straight up stop working.
