Jd 7000 corn population chart.
As others say, either the kinze or JD brush meters, or the Shoup brand too. Real happy with the Kinze I got used. My understanding is the JD are slightly better but not enough to matter. I think the 7000 and 7200 are so different as to not be worth trying to convert, can find used Kinze 7000 units for $50-70 each. Paul

The population is 5 times the corn chart rate because the finger meter has 12 fingers and your brush meter has 60 cells. The population for corn would be 32000 - 160,000/5 = 32000. Going to the corn chart for 32000 it says 11 driver and 9 driven. Either rotate the drive wheel equal to 17'-4" and catch the seeds and count, or roll across hard ground and measure out 17' and count the seeds on top of the ground and multiply X 1000.Row length averaged 14 rows per acre and row width was 38 inches. I think tractor was operating at about 4.5 miles per hour. I did stop several times to monitor seed corn levels and add the last two bags. Planted 9.7 bags of Dekalb DKC69-71 at 80,000 seed count for a plant population of 24250 per acre. I had targeted a plant population of 26000.The max corn population with the fingers is listed as 56,100. I f I were to plant the beans at 56,100 and then plant a second time splitting the rows would give 112,200 population on 15 inch rows. I know the population would be lower than recommended. I just really don't want to spend any money if the fingers will work with beans for 6 acres.Angus1 is correct. Your corn meters have 12 fingers and the soybean meters will be either the 60 cell or 48 cell (for large soybeans). If you think of the meter making one revolution; a corn finger meter would drop 12 seeds compared to a 60 cell soybean disc dropping 60 seeds.
