Tivo flashing lights of death.
Nov 17, 2019 · I've had Tivo for almost 10 years, I've never had a TiVo go bad. Now in the past 5 months 3 of my 4 TiVos get the flashing lights of death. The odds of this seem to high for it to be normal. What was most odd of the most recent failure was the fact that restarting the box via the menu option caused the issue to appear.

Apparently the firmware update didn't like the fact that I have a 6TB WD Red eSATA drive connected to the internal SATA port of the Bolt. My next steps will be to reconnect the SATA connection to internal 500GB ... I thought that the 4 flashing lights was a drive failure. At least it was for me. I put 2 seagate drive in my 2 bolts a couple of years ago. Within a month they were both flashing and useless. The drives themselves were not bad. Tivo just didnt like them I forgot why. Be careful if you follow these directions, the power supply is open, not in a cage like in a pc and there is possibly danger.

Can’t connect it to a Mac due to no port. Thought about Xcode Wi-Fi connect to it but can’t connect to it over Xcode as you have to authorize Wi-Fi connect on the Apple TV !
The blue LED is connected to GPIO2 which is also polled when determining boot mode.:It should be left floating or pulled LOW at boot (and via the LED it is pulled LOW), so when the ESP boots and GPIO2 is polled, the LED will flash a couple of times.
