Norinco 1897 trench gun heat shield keeps wandering forward under recoil. I plan on milling out the screw threads and taping for a larger size thread that will actually protrude more. I was wondering if that'd be a good idea as obviously without the mechanical advantage of the screws being in the grooves the clamping force isn't enough.You really did a very nice job with that Remington.
