I like the look of the Burres FF sight but just couldn't justify the price for a scope on a .22lr. I am considering it for a 1911 application though. For my MKs I went with a $50 TruGlo reflex sight on my 22/45 and a Millet SP-2 on my MKIII Competition pistol. The Millet is similar to an Ultra Dot but at a 1/4 the price.

Hold the top center of the dot (or front sight if using irons) on the lower front shoulder of the squirrel and you'll have a dead squirrel.
Weight is 38 oz compared to the 41 oz of the 6 7/8" Hunter. The shorter barrel does give it quite a different feel, despite the small difference in weight. I just assumed it was a 4 5/8" because Ruger does offer the MKIII Standard in a short barrel, too (4.75). RKBA Personal Safety My Hunter does that and it fires fine. I have taken apart and reassembled Mark III's 100 times. Last time I reassembled my base model the function check failed and the gun would not disassemble. I sent it back to Ruger and had it repaired and refurbished while it was there. They told me a rivet had snapped.
