Nissan xterra vdc off slip reset.
I have had the slip light coming on and off for years. Finally, the ABS light came on as well. I took it to Nissan to have the code scanned (free), and he told me that a pressure sensor was bad and that the engine wiring harness was bad related to the passenger wheel speed sensor. They quoted me $497 to fix those items.

What I have seen on the xterra is the steering angle sensors out of adjust, this will turn on the lights. You will have to reset with the nissan scan tool, for center wheel adjustment setting. Last night on freeway, I noticed a lost of power at 75 mph then it regained and all was well. This morning I got the same surge at around 45 and all 3 lights came on...SES, Slip and VDC. Truck ran fine rest of way to work. When I shut off then tried to start engine...it was very hard to start...But the ABLS still kicks in with the VDC off and can be way too sensitive. You get the same SLIP light and braking. It's not really that you're not slipping at all, but it's an imperceptible traction loss that a very sensitive sensor is picking up--assuming it isn't malfunctioning. My Xterra. David '05 OR MT.

If I hit the rear diff switch the REAR DIFF light goes out and then ABS and SLIP come on. I can hear the 4wd engage both high and low when I turn it on with my door open.

Apr 20, 2008 · The simplest thing to do is to take it back to the dealer. My 2008 Xterra had the VDC/slip light on when it was delivered. Just took it back the next day and they fixed it. Not really sure what the problem was. They said the steering angle detector (or something like that) had to be re-adjusted and the computer had to be reset.
