He had looked at the gun and seemed interested but was on the fence. I walked over and told the sales kid I'd take it.
Made out of domestic 6061-T651. Compatible with both the P and C2 models. Duty rated and battlefield proven. Extended magwell pin included. The frame and slide finish is superior, the slide to rail fitment is slightly better (slide racks more smoothly on the Staccato) and the Staccato trigger is slightly crisper and lighter.

The stock fire control units in a P are machined and better quality than factory Prodigy. The DLC finish is LIGHT YEARS better than the Cerakote on the prodigy, my P has a DLC barrel as well. The Prodigy is a good thing in that it puts needed pressure on the market. Staccato Ps don't need to cost $2.5k, but it's foolish to expect a pistol thats $1k cheaper to be "just as good". No free lunch and Staccato is still the baseline for a double stack that honest to goodness works from the start.
Prodigys in my area have been going for 1350, which is at least 8-900 cheaper than the cheapest staccato. My suggestion is if you won't die from spending the extra $, then save up for a staccato. Or get a bul Armoy 2011, which is somewhere between a prodigy and staccato. Reply reply. I loaded all to 20 rounds with 124gr NATO loaded by Winchester. From a locked back slide, with a loaded 20rd mag in my Staccato P, I was able to depress the 10-8 (OEM to Staccato) slide release, and chamber and fire all cartridges.
