The opening date continues to slide. It now appears that March 30 is the first bookable date, but until very recently March 1 was the date. Even once it does open, it will take them time to fully staff up, get trained, and get things operating smoothly.

We don't know how it will be in SXM, or if we want to spend $$$$ if it's going to be stressful. That doesn't sound like a good vacation. SXM did release their 5 phase to reopen plan. Basically most everything opens June 1st, on June 15th Everything is open.

The weather wasn’t great and it was very quiet (with the exception of Sun Clubber and primarily the restaurant). I used Expedia to book through Avis a small SUV (Ssangyong Tivoli), which is actually a small crossover and it cost 371 USD for a week. I prefer this route rather than saving a few tens of dollars with a smaller company.5. The importation of dogs and cats from South and Central America (excl. Suriname) is not permitted. 6. The importation of a pit-bull terrier type dog is not permitted. 7. The animals must be presented to a licensed Veterinarian within twenty four (24) hours of arrival in St. Maarten.We currently use Claude at Discount Car Rental St Martin and his rental prices include full insurance (theft, CDW, LDW, and third-party liability). Friends tell me they use an "SXM or Bust" card when on the island and receive discounts at different restaurants and shops. I'm not seeing anything helpful when I google that or discounts for St Maarten. Are there any free, valid cards/clubs we should be aware of for discounts on dining/shopping? Hi, possibly look at Funtime. Their website says they leave SXM 4:30pm for the 25 minute boat ride to Anguilla. Anguilla Air Services is very convenient when the flight times line up with your schedule but Funtime will be half AAS’s cost on the SXM - AXA leg.
