The orientation of the barrel with relief cut must be a specific position relative to the extractor. Look at any factory MP5 10/40 gun and you will see what I mean. If HK does not press the barrel in without spinning it, they would never get this orientation correct. Another case in point, is HK new barrels come painted with the front sight on.
Even the Atlantic arms version are worth around 1k. The CAI builds were notorious for having 5.56 barrels and keyholed terribly. I've never had much luck with the standard HK91 accuracy, couldn't even get 2MOA out of it. Even with a supposedly more accurate polygonal barrel. Tried all match ammo, adjustable G3/SG1 stock, a scope that costs almost as much as the rifle, etc. Maybe it wasn't HK per se, but something was out of tune, maybe bolt gap, or something worn out.
