How to turn off idle shutdown freightliner.
The thing is, I have to keep hitting the gas pedal to keep the truck running, but after doing that three times, the truck will turn off without giving me a shutdown warning. Our road assist guy says that I can enable the high idle by "revving it up a little and setting the cruise" but the cruise control can't be enabled unless I'm at 10+mph.

Basically its just a switch that increases the rpm slightly in order to warm the engine faster. As far as I know, there is no way to adjust/override the idle timing because it is a safety feature.
