Maybe the shoulder on the bbl is making contact with the receiver too soon to allow the bbl to turn to the correct position? If this is the case, careful filing on the shoulder for clearance? If the barrel was born as a modified choke, putting a 3 position adjustable on it would only utilize 2 of the 3 choke settings, modified and full, unless the barrel was shortened before the monstrosity was added. As it is now, the barrel length is 29½ inches, if we cut the choke off it'll be 23½ inches. It came in completely disassembled in an old coffee can as part of a bunch of parts and pieces I bought with some hot bluing equipment. It's reassembled now less the barrel, firing pin spring, ejector, ejector spring, and stock bolt lock washer.
