John deere x300 fuel pump problems.
1 post · Joined 2023. #1 · Apr 16, 2023. I have a 6310 with about 5000 hours. Recently I have had issues with the in tank fuel pump. They seem to work fine for a few months before quitting. As long as the fuel system stays primed, the tractor will start but I cannot hear the pump engage when turning the ignition key to the 1st position.

I pulled the fuel filter on the tank side and noticed a vacuum was present on the fuel line. I took my air compressor and applied pressure to the fuel line thinking there was some kind of occlusion.crank it, use insulated pliers to remove the plug wires..one at a time. It should run on each cylinder individually. So Im assuming it is vapor lock. I use name brand fuel but Ive heard that the ethenol is causing this more often now. It has a return line, all lines have been blown out. The fuel pump always primes when its cool, when it dies the pump dosnt prime, assume it is because of the pressure tricking the pump.

Deere suggested idling 2 to 3 minutes and when that didn't work, they suggested suggested shutting down from medium rpm's which didn't help either.
