Checkering on the back and front feels nice, not very aggressive, but gives you decent grip. Beaver tail looks obnoxious but in hand feels great. You can't help but get a nice high grip with this. Also, I know ots your last resort but there is a thing called the "grip mod" where you add 1911 grip bushings and then you can use 1911 grips. Just google "22.45 grip mod" and you will get lots of step by step guides. You could also try to trade it in at the local gun shop and pick up the replacable grip model. Either way hope this helped.

I would say a tad slimmer than the Wilson combat. To gain a slight grip increase and width you can add inner bike tire tubing as a sleeve that you slip on.
