Jan 19, 2020 · The conversion/update works perfectly and the changeout was simple: loosen the set screw in the old wad guide bracket, loosen the locking screw at the yoke on the bottom, remove the two circlips in the middle of the rod. Tilt the powder and shot bottles and remove the drop tubes. Changing reloading dies on a Dillon Precision 550 or 650 press is quick and easy. Once setup in a die plate, takes less than a minute to change from the 243 Win to the 308 Win. However, the Dillon 1050 press changeover is such a complicated issue that one just buys another press. I have an old (1964) Mec 600 jr that I converted to 2 1/2" 410 and a new 600 jr MK5 for 3" 410. I have loaded a lot of rounds never needed the stripper. My hulls don't hang up at the reprime station. I have an old (1964) Mec 600 jr that I converted to 2 1/2" 410 and a new 600 jr MK5 for 3" 410. I have loaded a lot of rounds never needed the stripper. My hulls don't hang up at the reprime station. Agree that those do not look like mec dies, could have been to make it load 3 1/2 . I have modified my 16 to load 2 9/16 , not rocket science. The 600 will crimp a first reloaded hull so that it looks factory, once adjusted correctly. I had a Lee loadall, not terrible but not close to the mec in quality.

It scraped off shards of brass and left a lot of brass dust. I called Mec and they sent out a new resizing ring. They fit and work perfectly. There's no need to retrofit your reloader until/unless these become unavailable. Replacing with the Hornady fingers is a lot less work.
