Sadly not anymore, Microsoft stopped offering artist images and bios for Zune years ago. I would like this software to work the same as Groove Music for artist images. There are Zune windows themes, apps for Zune HD and the reg tweaks that enables the Zune market place, but Microsoft had shut it down with the Windows Phone 7 support a little while back.

Is there any custom firmware or boot-loader for Zune 30. I was just wondering if there was any custom firmware for my Zune that i could install. I know RockBox was being developed in some capacity for the Toshiba Gigabeat S which was supposedly identical to one of the Zune models... This might be a good place to start.

The FULL standalone install has all the files you need. I believe you also specifically need to have .NET framework 3.5. You can add album art manually in Zune software using a jpeg of the image you want the songs to display for the Zune software/Zune device. Less likely - I can't remember what the deal was in Vista, but you may need to be logged in as the same user for the correct "music" folder to be visible to the currently logged-in user and the Zune software.

Edit: I can take no credit, the 2 users who figured this out are TheEvilLightBulb and Ferrango. They traced where the zune software was trying to download the firmware and figured out the key file is zune prod.xml and edited that file to point to the files. I've confirmed it myself, it's indeed zune HD is playing lossless music files but at slightly lower bitrate as Zune client converts them to Zune HD as the picture shown below. My whole music library I made for Zune takes 26.4 GB while, it takes 22.53GB on Zune. 4.86Gb of 26.4 GB music library is lossy audio files.Once the SSD is in the Zune, you just connect it to your PC. I removed the battery and spliced in the new battery via the wires. The device is still open. I plug the device into a battery pack, there are faint flickers then the faint charging icon. Thanks for this, I'm just getting around to fussing with it. The software loaded beautifully. It's nice to see the dashboard again. But yeah, I need to update the software and the "ZUNE-HOSTS-FILE.ZIP" provided me with a .txt and I'm not quite sure what to do with it.In the .txt there is a file folder location and an IP address and a URL.
