I have a springer precision trigger in the 4.5 frame and since it was fitted to my 4.5 slide, it is not as good of a trigger with a different slide. That would be my only caution. Yes, there are a few companies that make "conversion" barrels for Springfield XD and XDm. I bought a Storm Lake "Conversion" barrel in 9mm that I can swap out my .40s&w barrel on my XDm. But, it must be a Conversion barrel. You can't put an ordinary 9mm XDm barrel in the XDm40 slide. It won't fit properly, thus the need for the conversion barrel.

Slide didn't lock back on my XDM. I have a new XD (M) 9mm with the 4.5" barrel. On my most recent trip to the range I did have one minor issue and I wanted to get some advice from everyone on what the cause might be. At the end of shooting through the second mag the slide failed to lock back after all the rounds had been shot.I'm torn between getting the elite precision and having it milled for RMR or getting the OSP and having a top window milled somewhat like the precision model. Let's hear your options. Powder River Precision. They did work - including slide milling - on my XDM earlier this year, and did a great job. I don't know of any companies who do xdm milling.The original XD design, of which I own two in .45, is squared off and is very comfortable to rack the slide on.
