I have oil leaking from my 2012 kia sorento. It has been back to the Kia dealer 5 times and they cant seem to make it stop leaking. It was leaking from between the engine and the trans. They changed the oil pressure switch, the gaskets, replace housing & switch assembly. replaced the coolant O rings and seals and it is still leaking.HOWEVER, in my experience with KIA things do tend to go bad unexpectedly and very prematurely. For example, my 2016 Cadenza before the Sorento had AC system failure at 32k miles, and just like you said this happened in the middle of a road trip and no KIA dealer near by had the necessary parts in stock.
