Currently have a couple MCXs. A virtus in 6.75 and a 9 spear LT. The rattler upper receiver has a slightly shorter rail than the virtus/spear and I wanted all the parts to be comparable. 6.75 is - but quieter but with more gas to the face. Accuracy is similar at home defense ranges. The 9 will have better velocity and a bit further reach.The MCX Spear LT's recoil system is housed completely within the upper receiver, so it does not need a traditional buffer system and buffer tube (receiver extension). You shouldn't be clamping the receiver to remove muzzle devices. This can stretch the entire receiver body. It's only aluminum. You need to clamp the barrel as close to the device as possible or use a barrel extention bar that locks the lugs. Share.

But I have had discussion with Sig CS in the past that indicated a standard mil-spec trigger would work as well. I have two MCX Virtus rifles, both with the Sig 2 stage trigger.

A complete MCX Virtus 9" 300 BLK costs around $1800-$1900 Obviously they've been more expensive lately, and harder to find, but I'm personally perplexed by the upper being 77-81 percent the cost of a complete pistol in prices you could find less than a year ago.
