Hey, all. About 9 months after the purchase of my litter robot 3 connect, I got the rapid yellow flash, telling me I had a fault in my pinch detector. After cleaning the metal bits failed, I ended up cutting the metal ends off and using a butt splice with an environmental seal to connect the 2 wires and bypass the pinch detector all together.
If it cannot cycle after three attempts, the globe will return to the home position, and the control panel will flash yellow and red or blue and red lights. There are a few things you can do to troubleshoot a jammed Litter-Robot globe: 1. Turn off the unit and unplug it. 2. Remove the bonnet. 3. Remove the globe. 4.Turned out that the DFI board (the two PCBs on either side of the opening) was busted. You can order a new DFI kit for $80 off the litter robot website. I'm not sure how it broke, bit I read somewhere that something can blow if you remove or replace the bonnet while the robot is still plugged in. Okay, that’s what I figured. Usually when rapid yellow appears, so does the flashing blue. You’ll need to get a DFI replacement kit and replace the DFI sensors and the pinch detect terminals. See one of my recent posts. Just went through this, and my LR is outside warranty. I have a link to their troubleshooter listed.

To add, the sensor is two $.01 pieces of plated metal that get litter basically dumped on them with every cycle. So they corrode / get dirty and give tons of false pinch alerts. Sometimes the pinch alert requires a full unplug to reset. I kept finding my LR stuck upside down, leading the cats to find other places to do their messes.
