Professor Torbica truly has a heart for government and does his best to help all his students learn and understand Texas Government. Not required attendance but some of the test questions are lecture specific. All tests and assignments are online. Gives 3 attempts for every test with 3-4 days to take them.
Professor Gordon is one of the best professors I've had on HCC. I took her for 1301, 1302 and 2311 since Spring 2022. Do not let all the negative comments deceive you; these are just students who were not willing to put in the work. All her classes consist of writing a big paper in small parts, but she will help you on each step of the way. Grade: A-. Textbook: N/A. Professor Dybala is a great teacher. She explains topics that you don't understand thoroughly. Just make sure when you don't understand something, ask questions and don't over analyze the question the she gives you either. I absolutely loved taking 1302 from Ms. Proctor. She's one of the best professors at HCC! I got a C on my first paper, and she worked with me, told me how to improve. It meant a lot that I got an A on the research paper. She talked with me in her office hours. It's great too that the textbook is online and didn't cost anything.

Tests are a mix of open-ended 100-word answers and multiple choice math problems. He is very lenient and allowed makeup exams/home work and extra credit on the final exam. Took this professor for my summer II class at HCC and was honestly the best physics professor I've ever had. He is so helpful even if you ask him a seemingly stupid question. There was no final exam - only 3 exams and the homework went into your final grade. Exams were difficult but you always had enough time for completing them. Big curves.

The content of ECON2301 is fairly easy, and I am a 4.0 student, but he made it extremely confusing and difficult to understand. He seems very angry during most classes. I leave his class genuinely feeling second-hand anger and frustration. I would NOT recommend him. He is very engaged with the material and posts a short video lecture every week. He will make you work for your A but gives clear and constructive feedback so you can improve.
