Funny thing is, the CEL only illuminates if driving past 16MPH. I've seen it myself. You can have a misfire at idle and the computer will store that code, but the light will never be on if it doesn't occur while driving. This doesn't only go for newer cars. My 03 Elantra just had a CEL for the TCM requesting to turn on the light.
