I moved my futures trading account from Interactive Brokers to Tradovate a month ago and have been very happy. The Tradovate platform is easy to set up and price/execution is excellent. Good customer/technical support with unbeatable commission options. Date of experience: February 15, 2019It was a bit much at first, but it's a good platform to grow into. I was quickly stifled by the limited functionality included with ToS. Sierra Chart has me constantly looking for ways to expand and make better use of its capabilities (which there are many). Tradovate has pretty good commission structure, you can do "Active trader" or "Commission free" membership either monthly or yearly. I do the active trader, which is about $80/month and I get $0.19/contract fees. Tradovate charts are awful compared to ToS, so I end up using ToS charts and use Tradovate to place my orders and executions. You can use the strategy builder for very simple strategies, but I'd suggest learning NinjaScript to get more out of NT strategies. If you don't tie your orders to 1 tick data or use high fill resolution, your backtest will be wildly different than reality.
