It was located on the banks of the Lamrütz. In 1803, John Gottlob List and Frederick Höcke founded a porcelain factory to manufacture household porcelain and earthenware. A: A pottery was founded at Altrohlau, Bohemia (now Stara Role, Czech Republic) in 1813. It went through several changes in ownership and name. Moritz Zdekauer, whose initials "MZ" are part of the mark, operated the pottery from 1884 to 1909. C.M. Hutschenreuther bought the factory in 1909 and the name became Altrohlau Porcelain Factories.
