WOTR is better for sure but Kingmaker is worth playing and better if you play first to get into the setting. Level 10 Paladin that you will level to 11 in that Shadow World. Level 10 does nothing for you. You go to fight the Darkness after you hit 11 NOT before. Create a 22 CHA paladin +2 CHA from levels and +4 from buff (potions shoud be saved for the Darkness fight). 28 CHA thats +9 modifier and +9 to your AB/+11 to damage.
