(myself included at times) Brand X is winning all the shoots so brand X must be the best barrel there is. Just got done with this build a couple of weeks ago. Re: Shilen Match VS Select Match barrels. One is straighter that the other and cleans up easier but they both seem to shoot well. My select match cleans up without a trace of copper while the other tends to have a small amout of copper in it. Had a criterion remage barrel in 243 8tw. On a trued action it shot great, lots of groups in the .2s&.3s. Cleaned up as easy as my barts and kriegers. I've got 2 shilen barrels right now both in a 6mm chambering. I couldn't be happier with the one- but the second was pretty disappointing. It took a lot of work to find a load that it would shoot good and it collected copper like no other barrel I've ever seen.

The benefit of a prefit barrel is they can be easily installed without a lathe or gunsmith using simple hand tools such as a torque wrench and headspace gauges.
