I've always wanted that amp since I tried one in the local guitar store in "96. (I know the CS badge doesn't mean much sonically but it adds to the rarity and is a nice bonus).

I like the Tim best, and the V3 second best-it's smoother in high gain mode and pretty spot on to the original in low gain mode. The MXR sounded the same, but not quite as smooth or as flexible. They're very good and easily comparable to the 2 major "brand name" mass produced lines that cost 2 to 3 times as much. I've used several of their pickups, mostly P90's and HB's. They do sell some unbranded economy lines that can be disappointing or just average.Lighter is only better if you have a physical condition, like back or shoulder issues and just can't handle the extra weight, imho. Personally, weight isn't even something I consider when looking for a guitar. If it's 5 lbs or 11 lbs, I don't care, as long as it sounds and plays good.The Blues Power used at the end of your chain adds cranked amp sounds and acts like a master volume with different levels of gain and EQ. There are a few things to consider. 1. Your presets need to be dialed in for the amp and cab. Taking one that was dialed in for FRFR and running it into an amp and cab is not ideal. 2. The power amp does make a difference. I've had the best results with 6L6 tubes, ideally ones with late distortion characteristics. 3.
It's a fine playing and sounding SG, more bright sounding than the Gibson, and a slimmer neck width and profile.
