I rolled in-money options until options expires worthless and never have wash sale. If you buy/sale options with same expire day, the loss is considered wash sale, regardless strike price.

Hi, I decided to try out the selling puts (csp) strategy. I sold a put but noticed that I didn't receive the premium and it wasn't reflected in my buying power or portfolio value. My only thoughts are because I'm using a cash account instead of a margin account the premium won't reflect in the buying power on the same day, or I f*cked up lol. You’d be over allocated and a down move in SPY would wipe your account. Also, a long call has a lot of extrinsic that you’ll bleed. If you were to open a backspread with around 100 deltas and minimal extrinsic on SPY, or sell an ATM put and buy an ATM call, it would be more like $8k either in debit or capital requirement. r/thetagang.
