I just received a 2000 Tundra from my father in law, he removed the 20A fuse for the 4wd because the 4hi and 4lo buttons and lights on dash blink constantly. Tapping on ADD and Transfer Case (TC) actuators didn't help. I removed the connector and vent hose from each actuator ... The next morning all kinds of lights were on and/or flashing - VSC, 4 Hi, 4 Lo, ALSD, Check Engine - and key on/key off did nothing to help the whole day, though it seemed to drive just fine.
